My first blog ever!
I just finished the "Introduction" to Bruns and Jacobs' book, and I like that they discuss context and credibility, two major issues with blogs. If there are blogs for everything ranging from the stock market to English classes, is there anywhere that blogs don't belong? Are some sights more "trustworthy" than others? Are the A-list bloggers more credible, or just better performers?
I have often questioned the internet's reliability as a research tool, as it has, at times, proven itself to the contrary. It seems that blogs offer more of an open forum for discussion than a vehicle for expert opinion-- though it probably depends on the blog. However, I wonder if my future students will recognize this difference when undertaking research projects.
